First, equal opportunities at work, education etc. must be provided to them. They are a part of society & must be treated as such. Some suggestions:
- Ramps for entryways into buses.
- Special spaces in buses wheelchairs can be latched on.
- Push buttons at road crossings & audio when walk sign is On.
- Special entry-ways to railway platforms, ticket counters, buses.
- Having worked with a 99% visually impaired mentor in US,I notice how much the disabled suffer in India.
